Simple tips to improve your daily life

11 Jan
I found this on my friends facebook status and I had to share it. After you read this, please share it with your family and friends…I don’t know who the author is..but thank you to who ever wrote this.

1. Don’t compare your life to others’. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
2. Don’t have negative thoughts of things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment …
3. Don’t over do; keep your limits
4. Don’t take yourself so seriously; no one else does
5. Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip
6. Dream more while you are awake
7. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need..
8. Forget issues of the past. Don’t remind your partner of his/her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.
9. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don’t hate others.
10. Make peace with your past so it won’t spoil the present
11. No one is in charge of your happiness except you
12. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
13. Smile and laugh more
14. You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

15. Call your family often
16. Each day give something good to others
17. Forgive everyone for everything
18. Spend time with people over the age of 70 & under the age of 6
19. Try to make at least three people smile each day
20. What other people think of you is none of your business
21. Your job will not take care of you when you are sick. Your family and friends will. Stay in touch.

22. Put GOD first in anything and everything that you think, say and do.
23. GOD heals everything
24. Do the right things
25. However good or bad a situation is, it will change
26. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up
27. The best is yet to come
28. Get rid of anything that isn’t useful, beautiful or joyful
29. When you awake alive in the morning, thank GOD for it
30. If you know GOD you will always be happy. So, be happy. While you practice all of the above, share this knowledge with the people you love, people you go to school with, people you play with, people you work with and people you live with. Not only will it enrich YOUR life, but also that of those around you just live laugh and love.

Don’t let anyone hold you down. Life is too sweet for that.

We all have dreams and we all have goals.

Sometimes we don’t know where to start and what to do to go after the life we want.

And before you know it, we are wrapped up in someone else’s plan, someone else dream, and someone’s else’s goal.

It’s always good to help and support others. But you are your own person; you have your own dreams, your own goals and your own personality.

If you’re stuck in a relationship, personal or professional and it’s hindering you from taking flight, take some time to search deep within you and ask yourself, is this helping me to get closer to my goals or dream. Or am I being comfortable, and am using this platform because I’m afraid to step out and see my own shadow.

It’s a powerful question, but it’s one that will help you and one that can change your life.

I’ve been there myself, and I continue to ask myself if I’m moving forward or being comfortable and allowing someone else to carve my path for me.

Sometimes we are surrounded by people that try to take one up on us..they feel great by making us feel small and or inferior. Really this is done because they don’t feel good about themselves, so there way of feeling good and powerful is to come across better and bigger than us.

They never support you, but they are quick to ask for your support, saying, you know what I’m really better than you, and it will be crazy if I did anything for you.

It’s a New Year, and the best time to start going after your dreams and goals is now.

Support others, but don’t get lost constantly trying to please them, and lose sight of your dream and lose yourself in the process. It will be hard to step away, if it was easy, chances are you would have done it long time ago. But when you step away you will feel that weight lifted off your shoulder. You might feel scared and not sure what to do..but trust yourself and trust that you have what it takes to start a new venture and meet new people that will support you each step of the way.

Don’t let anyone hold you down. Life is too sweet for that.

Love this quote about life…so I’m keeping it

12 Aug

Read this quote today and I fell in love..so true. The quote didn’t come with the picture, I borrowed the picture from google and pasted the quote.:)

Enjoy your weekend, if your feeling like your off track, its never too late to get back on track. STOP and refocus on what matters. I tell myself this too, because every now and then we all tend to get caught up and some times drift away from what we should be doing. I’m going to print this image, put it in a picture frame, as a reminder to myself.

If you say your going to do it, just do it

29 Jun

Over the past few months I’ve had the pleasure “Sarcastic voice” of dealing with smooth talkers.

When you say your going to do something it’s always best to do it, but life happens and it’s not always possible, all you need to do is be honest and own up to the aftermath of not being able to follow through.

However let’s be real, what is straight disrespectful is telling someone your going to do something, and not do it, not saying you can’t do it and just sitting there as if nothing happened. that’s the kind of smooth talker I’m talking about. The ones that talk it up, how great they are, but fail miserably to deliver.
Being able to sell yourself is great, being able to offer a great product is amazing, however when its time to deliver what you say you can deliver is even better. Accountability is key, and I’ve experience the other side of dealing with service providers, and individuals who talk a whole lot of smooth shit to get your business, your attention, your money, but when its time to deliver on what they promised, excuses, and everything else comes into play. Even excuses that has nothing to do with the situation..thats why its an excuse..its just not feasible.

Hold yourself accountable to what you say your going to do, if your offering to help, if your offering a service follow through with it.

Not only is your reputation on the line, but someone is trusting you and believing in you.

I’ve dealt with people, who have come to me out of the blue and offered to do things, and didn’t follow through, like are you serious, why are you wasting your time and my time.

I’ve dealt with service providers who have talked up how great they are, and what they will do, and have failed to deliver. They have provided all the excuses in the book except providing the service they said they would, and I’m pretty forgiving, however what was also bad, is not owning up to what they said, just gliding through the situation as if nothing happened, or the service stops after they received the money.

I believe in people, I enjoy interacting with people, I enjoy finding ways we can help each other, so let’s concentrate on being reliable and trusting individuals, not money seeking and opportunity sucking leeches. We all want to succeed, we all want the best, we are also selfish in nature, and that’s understandable, but lets keep it healthy, just do what it is you say your going to do. and if you go above and beyond that’s icing on the cake.

What one word describes what 2011 will be like for you?

14 Dec

A few days ago I asked the question

“What one word describes what 2011 will be like for you?”

I posted this question on Facebook and Twitter.

I got some great answers, before I share my answer, here are some of the answers I got.

Next Level

These words are more than just words to those who answered. Each word describes what each person wants for themselves for the coming year.

Whats My word?

As I enter the new year I plan on embracing more of myself, embracing my fears, my strengths and my weakness.

I will embrace what I love to do, and do it with more passion, embrace the great family and friends I have, embrace my creativity, embrace change and the list goes on.
But the major one for sure is looking my fears in the eye and moving forward knowing that these fears will hold me back only if I allow them to..and I’m not planning on letting them. Though we all know what fear feels like, fear has no life, unless we give it life, so I will embrace it, and let it know that I won’t let it be the driver of my life.

What’s your word for 2011?

Write your word down and put it up, get emotionally connected to it.
Every time you read it, you should feel ignited..your actions should be in line with the word you choose.

Let’s embrace the deep power we have within us to create a life that is freaking and absolutely amazing..

The best time to start is NOW enter 2011 breathing the word that sets your soul on FIYA.

Don’t allow anyone to suppress your dreams…

Be Strong, Rise up and Soar

We just have to move on

4 Apr

Sometimes we out grow situations and people, what use to bring pleasure and happiness to us, may seem like a chore at this present time.
We enter situations and meet people at all stages of our lives, we share with them, we learn from them and we gain new insights on ourselves.
As time goes by, we grow and sometimes we have to say good bye to the old so that we could grow and experience new things.
Its not that the old is bad, but sometimes the old is comfortable, it’s safe and secure, and yes sometimes the old is detrimental to our growth. Majority of the time what we want is not in our safe zone, so we must step out, feel a little uncomfortable and challenged so that we can grow spiritually, mentally, physically, and professionally.

It’s ok to out grow situations and people, learn from each experience and let that build you into a stronger and wiser person.

When will the Sun Shine

17 Mar

Through the darkest clouds the sun comes out and shines the brightest

We all have days, months and even years when we feel like “OMG when am I going to get mine.”  We find ourselves having a serious talk with our friends, family, god, the divine and the list goes on. We get angry, we cry, we experience emotions that no words could describe. We see others moving along gracefully, or our vision is so clouded that we can’t think or see clear at all.

Whatever your path or journey is, don’t give up…

The sun will come out and shine and when it shines, be appreciative of that bright light.

I have experienced my fair share of OMG when am I going to get a break, when will it be my time. I experience different emotions here and there.

What do I do? Well I never have the answer because I’m always tested. but I surround myself with people who help me, I pray and I allow myself to feel what I need to feel, I write and sometimes its good to step away just to breathe..

But the message is the **Sun will Shine. So don’t give up.**

Did you bury your talent *Weekly Quote*

7 Dec
I came across this funny yet informative and inspiring quote. It made me laugh, just because it was so straight forward and it had a little pun to it.
So I’m sharing it with you.
He who buries his talent is making a grave mistake.
– Unknown
It’s very precise, yet it says it all.
Take this quote with you to start off your week, and let it guide you. If your already making great use of your talent, thats wonderful, keep it up, if not, start taking the steps today to do what you love to do.
The world needs more happy people, and we are happy when we are doing what we love.

Great dancers aren’t great because of their technique; they are great because of their passion.

I think this quote is amazing.

In no way am I down playing the importance of technique, however I’m stressing the importance of that fire that comes out when a dancer is on the stage.

For me personally the ability to listen to music and let your body tell a story, the ability to let all your walls down and let the entire audience feel what your feeling is amazing, to me that beats technique.

I appreciate technique, but I can’t watch an entire performance that’s straight technique, I want to feel the dancers passion.

I also like this, because for the longest time I was hung up on the fact that I started training late, you know what that’s fine, I still went and trained, but its not the end of the world. I could dance and the passion is there and will always be there.

Dance your heart out every time you get the chance to…..its who we are as dancers…..Don’t ever hold back….why dance if your not really going to dance…
